Some Resurrection Day pics!

Sunday we went to church with my mom.  I always love when my boys are home and they go to church with me, so I decided we should join my mom.  It was a lovely service and the cross was definitely the focus!

On Friday, Emily came home from school and said that their Bible teacher informed them that it should not be called Easter by Christians, but that we should call it the proper name - Resurrection Day!  I love that!!  It is a reminder to me of why we chose to send our kids to the Christian School.
Yes, the camera was crooked on the couch. A pic with my pretty mom!!
No, she IS NOT taller then me, she has on stilts for shoes ;)

Isn't he just debonair?
I actually bought a dress last week when I went shopping with the BFF's.  I haven't purchased an actual dress in YEARS!!  It was fun to wear a dress (instead of always wearing skirts) - there's just something about it that makes you feel so feminine!  I DID decided I HATED my hair after all these pics - so I made an appointment and got it cut and highlighted yesterday!!  Ahhhhhhhhhhh - so much better!

Happy Anniversary Nathan!

1 year ago TODAY we got the call that no parent ever wants to get - Nathan was in a motorcycle accident and was being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.  I've never put this picture on the blog - but thought I would so you could see the MIRACLE that God performed in Nathan's life! (this pic was taken by his cousin Darrin who was right behind him on his motorcycle - God has since brought Darrin home safely from serving in Afghanistan!)
As I look back over the last year - it seems very surreal!  So much of it is a fog and so much I don't remember!

What I DO remember is that God spared Nathan's life and carried us all through the last year! The peace that God provided through the darkest days was overwhelming, the strength to carry through it all - amazing!

"For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but My steadfast love shall not depart from you, and My covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you.        Isaiah 54:10

AAA - choo!

What the sun finally shows up and my allergies decide to make themselves even more present?!?!  Can't I warm up first?  Can't my eyes adjust to the light of the sunshine before I have to go digging for my allergy pills?

My favorite tree is about ready to burst open................  these pics are from last year at exactly this time (The night before Nathan's accident), the tree is a bit behind this year.  I can't imagine whey (said with dripping sarcasm) - maybe plants need warmth and sunshine too ?!?!?!

Speaking of 1 year ago.............I haven't been blogging much because I'm working on getting a book made of my blog.  I am putting all the posts in it from Nathan's accident and any progress reports in the last year.  I found a site called Blog 2 Print that will also print all the comments in the book, which I really want Nathan to have.  I want him to read all the encouraging thoughts, verses and prayers you all sent our way.  I will let you know when the book arrives.

ENJOY THE SUNSHINE!!!!!

A new roll recipe!

A few weeks ago I decided to try these rolls from one of my new favorite blogs Our Best Bites.

Last night we celebrated BFF Marla's Bday and I made them to accompany our dinner, which was a copycat recipe from the Cheesecake Factory.  I was there in Boise with Judy and had their Chicken Madeira - and it was AWESOME!  I went online and found the "recipe" and it turned out fabulous!!!
Back to the rolls........................You can find the recipe HERE
I made 12 rolls with my batch - just right for a dinner party.
They are SO moist and they make AWESOME lunches the next day!  I hope you try them.  They would also make great hamburger buns!!

Happy B'day to Marla (tomorrow)!!  Can't wait for Wednesday!!

Em and I are heading out on a road trip in the new little red car.  Figure this car will cut our gas bill in half!  We're heading to Boise to see the McKay's.  Rumor has it they have blue skies and sunshine over there!  I will let you know!

Happy 16th B'day to my girl!

Today - my baby turns 16!  WOW!  When did that happen?

Not sure when it happened - but it seems like it happened WAY to fast!

Emily is loyal, thoughtful, talented, beautiful, independent, strong willed, loves animals, kind, deep thinking..........all, with just a touch of feistyness!!  What a privilege it is to be her mom.  I am so excited to see what God has in store for her!
