Surgery #5

I talked Nathan into a picture because all of you loyal friends and family need to see my handsome man/child.................................Tomorrow around 12pm Nathan will head in for the last surgery. Can you believe it? This surgery is to fix his patella (knee cap), it is broken into 5 pieces.

Today went actually quite smoothly and Nathan got over some hurdles. We had a very quiet day with no visitors - the quiet was good but I think we were both going a little stir crazy by 5 - and I don't get any meds!! :-)

Randy will be down tomorrow morning before Nathan heads into surgery. Everytime he leaves me - I am so painfully reminded of how much I need him for strength right now - without him, I am lost!

There is no way to express how loved and cared for we feel. We are counting the days to come home and praying for wisdom in our decisions.

Romans 5:1-5: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Leanne N. sent me these verses and added that even tho' the verses are speaking about spiritual sufferings, often times when we are physically suffering Satan attacks and tries to draw us from the one we need to hold on most!

How wonderful to see a smiling young man after such a trauma to his poor body!
The same Lord that so tenderly knit him together (Ps. 139) will cause these doctors to reconstruct His work, and we will be praying that His hand will guide each step tomorrow.
Will also pray that the pain begins to subside in great measure.
Janice, you are an example in persevering and being the necessary advocate for Nathan. We are all thankful that our prayers are felt and being answered, along with yours!
What a faithful Lord we serve. When I read the scriptures, song lyrics I wonder how in the world people go thru such difficult times without Him!
Many blessings, and a great nights' sleep for both of you!

If he wasn't sitting in a hospital bed, I wouldn't know what Nathan had gone through the last 10 days! He looks great - well, I'm in the get a haircut camp too - so good to see what God has done. Make Craig give him a big kiss from me tomorrow. (I'd pay for a picture of that!) Love ya and praying for you. Debbie-doo

Aw he's such a smiley boy. Everytime that I've seen him he's always been smiling. :)

Philippians 4:6-7 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

James 5:10-11 "For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy."

The Bible is a great place to be during struggles. And right now, all these verses might be helping me more than you. :) You are a beautiful family and a light to those in the dark. I'll pray that the surgery goes well and that patience will be in abundance. :)

I think I may be the only person to not be in the hair cut club. I say let the hair grow..maybe that is because I'm one of his guy friends that don't mind his long hair! If anything maybe he should have Cory come down and give him his hair cut haha. But in all regards its definitely good to see him smiling, and into something different than hospital clothes. Any who get well soon Nathan, I love you man!! ALSO stay strong Janice before you know it he'll be back to normal and be the same handful he's always been, haha.
