Sunday morning............

Nathan had a "good" night. He did not need blood and they are feeling better about his blood pressure and hemacratic levels (sp?).

They are going to leave his breathing tube in and keep him heavily sedated as he needs to rest and is fairly restless and combative when they bring him out at all. His body needs to be prepared for the HUGE surgery ahead tomorrow.

They are looking at a minimum 5 hour surgery to reconstruct his pelvis and we ask you to pray!

Today we are expecting a bit of company which will help the day pass.

I am longing to be at church today to sing with my church family the praises that are due to the great and mighty God I serve! Music and praising the Lord are a salve to my soul.

This morning there is sunshine and it helps to make the soul feel brighter. Here is the view from our' "living room on the 9th floor.
Loving all of you and am overwhelmed at the care and compassion and PEACE we are feeling.

"How great is our God, sing with me, How great is our God, so all can see How great, How great, is our God!!"

I always told my grandma that the best instrument I could ever learn to play was my vocal chords! Praise the LORD you can still raise those sweet words in song this very morning.

We are thinking of and praying for you and Randy. I will pray specifically for Nathan's thoughts and dreams....that he may "calm" down and accept the help he needs from the doctors, nurses, and medications. His mind must be very restless and confused right now...

Thanks again for continuing to update us...we are with you in spirit...sending you hugs and comfort!

So glad to hear the sun is brightening your day Janice. Thank you for updating the blog regularly, I like to pray specifically and this helps so much! While having Nathan restless can't be fun, I am grateful for his young, healthy body that will heal so much quicker!

My favorite song from worship this morning was "The Love of God"

1. The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
* Refrain:
Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
2. When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
3. Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

I have tears in my eyes every time I go to your sight. Mother tears. I'm praying for all of you and am so thankful you have friends around you.
Do you need anything? Can I bring anything down to you? Emily? Please, please let me know.
Get some rest too. It's going to be a long journey.

Sing anyway, he can hear your voice and I know that there is a piano there somewhere!!!

Janice, I have never commented on a blogspot before so really don't know if this is going to get to you or not. This blog stuff is all new to me, but goodness I'm thankful for it and your updates on Nathan! Tears from the depths of this momma's heart flowed down my face as I saw you there with your boy - many times throughout the day today I have asked the Lord to embrace you with his peace and love. If there is a way to send a blog hug thru cyberspace...consider it done! Love you lots and still praying! Lona

We love you so much Janice! (And Randy, Nathan, Brandon and Emy). We were thinking of you all day, and missed you. We got Em at least, and had a great afternoon all together joking about what life would be like if my parents were in charge of her instead of Katie. . . She said she would beg to live with Gabe and I and babysit every day instead!!! Ha!

I missed Nathan. I want to show him the shirt Bryce sent Macy that says, "If you think I'm good looking, you should see my Uncle." He is being prayed for constantly...

Hi Janice and Randy,
I just read the paper this morning and heard what happened to Nathan. Please know that we will be praying for you and your whole family. I can't imagine what you all are going through, but Harborview is the best around, so he is in good doctor hands! I miss you and prayers to all.

Love ya,
Kathi

Janice and Randy, Nathan has been on my mind for some time now (do you remember, Janice, I asked you awhile ago how he was doing?). Don't know why the Spirit was bringing him to mind, but I want you to know that I think of him constantly now and I whisper a tiny prayer each time he comes to mind.

As a mom and grandma, my heart is breaking for all of you. We all know that God's plans are perfect. I'll not give you any platitudes about how it will all work out for the best, etc. How ever it works out, the getting there hurts.

I will pray for healing for Nathan, peace and comfort for you all, wisdom and strength for the doctors, and that whatever God had in mind that required this will be accomplished.

Please give Nathan my love and know that I love you and your family.
