This is tough

Here is Nathan after surgery - resting and sedated. It's SO hard to see him like this - I don't handle it very well :-(
Uncle Larry,Aunt Kim, Darrin, and Jeremy came to visit. It helps to pass time to have people to visit - it's easier to turn my brain off.

They are thinking they may be able to take the breathing tube out tomorrow. After this photo was taken with me by Nathan, he tried to talk, opened his eyes to look at me, and had a tear roll down his cheek - oh man - this IS TOUGH!!
They have a screen in the surgery waiting room to track your patient. Nathan is #850 and we were in the waiting room just as it directed!! We talked with the surgeon and he couldn't even begin to tell us how many surgeries this could take.

Every time I see someone walk into his room I just want to scream - "That's my boy - please take good care of him." Sometimes they are so casual - and they have to be - I get that - but it's hard sometimes not to see constant urgency - after all - I am his mom!
"You will keep in perfect peace, him, whose mind is steadfast on you" Isaiah 26:3 (I think)

Praying that his breathing tube comes out tomorrow! This is hard for auntie to see and brings tears to my eyes. I just need to get down there...to hug you and to see him. This is my boy! He's been my boy for a long time and I hope he knows that no matter how old he gets, he will always be my Nay,nay!

Oh Janice, seeing these pictures just made everything really sink in for me! I cannot imagine my 'little boy' 20 years from now being in Nathan's position...that has got to be one of the hardest things ever for you to stand by and see! We will continue to pray, pray, pray! We love you guys! Thank you so much for taking time to update us on your blog and take a few pics!

As hard as it is to watch your son be in the care of other people, you are doing your job (and doing it VERY well) just by being there holding your "little guy's" hand.
Hang in there. We will all help you guys take one step at a time with Nathan.

Well darlin' this is very surreal...amazing how your life can change in an instant. One moment you can be contemplating purple headbands and the next flying to the hospital...You know what the best part about all of this is? HE NEVER CHANGES...HE IS CONSTANT. HE'S GOT THE PLANS...and you can just sit back and enjoy your little boy again....be with him...love him....hug your hubby and ponder on how this life is so wild and wonderful. How second chances are beautiful...and how our God reigns. Ain't life grand? He's got it all...let Him do the carrying...and you just relax in His arms. Remember He loves Nathan even more than you ever could mamma...it just needs to be worked out in His time; not ours. My thoughts and prayers are with you dear Jannie-poo; the Grandiflora Girls are at your beck and call! :) Thanks for keeping us posted via your blog.
